Short animated film “Maku” by Yoriko Mizushiri, at the Berlinale Shorts III. If I didn’t see the Kanji title “幕” (meaning veil or curtain) for Maku, I would rather think it’s “膜” (membrane), also pronounced as Maku. Membrane…here comes the similarity between our cornea and salmon roe. Don’t we feel like jumping into those extremely fragile spheres and being wrapped in them?
ベルリン映画祭でショートフィルム。水尻自子さんの＜幕 Maku＞というアニメーションがよかった！周りのドイツ人に私まで拍手してもらうという異国アルアル。Makuは、私には＜膜＞の字もしっくり来た。ぷるんぷるんにつっこみたい、つつまれたいって感じる、ちょっとシュールで淡くてもどかしい感じ。音楽も触りたくなる音でずっと鳴っていて欲しいなって思った。
Ich habe auf den Berlinale Shorts III den kurzen Animationsfilm “Maku” von Yoriko Mizushiri gesehen. Wenn ich nicht das Kanji des Titels “幕 (Schleier)” wüsste, würde ich mir “膜 (Membran)” vorstellen, dessen Aussprache auch “maku” ist. Es geht um die Ähnlichkeit zwischen der Hornhaut des Auges und Lachslaich. Wollen wir nicht in diese ganz fragilen Kugeln hineinspringen und uns von ihnen umhüllen lassen?
